LPD officer involved in wreck on MLK Jr. Blvd.

Today around 10:00 am a Lexington Police Officer, Officer Craven, was involved in a traffic accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The officer sustained minor injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Officer Craven was on duty, traveling East on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., when he observed a car traveling Westbound committing a speeding violation. He initiated his emergency lights and equipment, and attempted to turn around to stop the speeding violator and turned in front of a concrete truck owned by Gobble Concrete of Lexington, causing a collision. The investigation is ongoing per the policies and procedures of the Lexington Police Department regarding officer involved crashes.
