Nick Leahy, a fifth-grade student from Charles England Elementary School, was the winner of the Math 24 Challenge Tournament that took place on March 18th. Nick was one of twenty-four elementary students who competed in our Math 24 Challenge Tournament.

Math 24 is a timed mental math game that promotes critical thinking skills in which students are charged with making the number 24 using the four numbers on game cards. They could add, subtract, multiply or divide using all four numbers only once to figure out a three-step pattern.

In the final round, Nick competed against Mia Bryan, also a fifth-grade student from Charles England. As first-place winner, Nick received $100 from the Jacket Academic Boosters. Mia received $50 for coming in 2nd place. Congratulations to the Charles England Coach, Kristie Paradis, for having both top-place finishers!
