In his first season at the helm of Lexington Senior High School (LSHS) volleyball program, Larry Michael was named the Central Carolina Conference’s (CCC) Coach of the Year last week. As the leader of program, he guided the team to their historical appearance in the playoffs; the first in school history. They lost in the opening round of the playoffs.
The team amassed a record of 15-6 with a record of 8-4 in conference play. They finished third in the CCC.
LSHS Athletic Director, Ronnie Beverly, noted the recognition was based on votes by the conference’s head coaches.
“We’re extremely proud of him and the team,” said Beverly.
