Argument between acquaintances in Lexington leads to shooting
Patrol deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s responded to 336 Spring Dr. Lexington NC 27295 on September 20th in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located four people at the residence and one victim who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
It was reported that Jimmy Walker a resident of the home had shot the victim following a verbal argument. Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to further investigate.
Through the investigation, it was learned that Walker had entered into a civil agreement to complete work on a vehicle belonging to the victim, which led to a verbal argument. During the verbal argument, Walker displayed a pistol, ultimately firing the pistol, and striking the victim.
Walker was taken into custody and brought before a Davidson County Magistrate where he was charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Walker was ordered to the Davidson County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on September 30, 2024.
