City of Lexington Fire Department: House fire still under investigation
LEXINGTON, NC – Thursday afternoon Lexington Fire Department responded to a house fire at 501 Greensboro Street.
Firefighters arrived at 5:32 pm to find smoke and flames. Crews quickly began extinguishing the fire and searching for possible victims. All occupants had exited the house before the fire department's arrival. However, one occupant, an adult male, had suffered some smoke inhalation. He was treated and transported to Wake Forrest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center by Davidson County EMS.
The fire was brought under control, and Red Cross was called to assist the displaced occupants. The Lexington Fire Marshal was called to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Lexington Fire Marshal's Office.
