Motorcyclist dies in crash

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, a motorcycle was traveling North on South  Main Street at a high rate of speed. A Lexington Police Officer began to initiate a traffic stop as  the motorcyclist failed to stop for a red light at Second Avenue and struck a vehicle crossing the intersection.  

The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old male from Lexington, was transported by Davidson  County EMS to Lexington Medical Center where he passed away from injuries sustained during  the collision. At this time, that is all the information Lexington Police Department can release  about the driver.
