Nailah Knows Food: Spicy Garlic Shrimp Crostini

INGREDIENTS - ADJUST SEASONINGS TO TASTE
1lb raw jumbo shrimp
3 slices of thick cut bacon
French bread sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/4 cup fine chopped chives
1/3 cup honey
1/2 LB cream cheese softened
3-5 cloves of fresh garlic minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
1 tablespoon sugar
DIRECTIONS
1. In a medium skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from pan and put on paper towels to soak up the excess oil. Save the bacon grease in a heat safe bowl and set aside.
2. Peel and devein and clean your shrimp under cold running water. In a bowl add shrimp, seasoned salt, black pepper, old bay seasoning, honey, fresh garlic, garlic powder, red pepper flakes.
3.Pour a small amount of your saved bacon grease into your hot skillet, medium flame. Sauté your shrimp until mostly cooked. You will know it’s cooked when the shrimp make a perfect “c” shape. Pour in the left over honey mixture into the pan and turn up the heat. Cook until sauce thickens. Remove everything from the pan and set aside to cool.
4. In a separate bowl. Mix cream cheese, chives, sugar, vinegar, seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic power, chopped bacon. Mix well and set aside.
5. In a large cast iron skillet or pan, over med high heat. Add a small amount of bacon grease to coat bottom of pan. When the grease is hot, placed sliced bread in the pan to grill. Grill both sides of the bread. Set aside and repeat.
ASSEMBLING
1. Spread cream cheese mixture on grilled French bread.
2. Top with shrimp
3. Garnish with lemon and/or more BACON!!
