New FSDC domestic violence advocate will work out of TPD headquarters

For Immediate Release

We are excited to announce that beginning March 1, 2022, Family Services of Davidson County will have an advocate in the Thomasville Police Department for 20 hours every week. The FSDC advocate will hold open office hours for walk ins during the following times:

Mondays: 8:30am-3:30pm

Wednesdays: 8:30am-3:30pm

Thursdays: 9am-4:30pm

The advocate will be able to provide the following services:

  • File 50B protective order

  • Assist with victim’s crime assistance paperwork

  • Address Confidentiality

  • Put together personalized safety plans

  • Accompaniment to DV related court cases

  • Referrals to: case management, DV shelter, counseling, youth services, & support group

Walk-ins will be welcome during office hours. Appointments outside of office hours may be available if scheduled in advance. The advocate will have immediate access to a translator that can assist with any language. Anyone in the community will be able to come into the Thomasville office for services, not just Thomasville residents.
