Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Art Exhibition Expands with Exciting Community Partnerships
Lexington, NC – Anything For Our Youth Group Lexington proudly announces the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Art Exhibition artist reception, celebrating the creativity and talent of young artists in the community. The event will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Arts Theatre 202, located at 202 N. Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
This special exhibition serves as a platform to honor the artistic contributions of our youth and to reflect on Dr. King’s enduring legacy of equality, unity, and hope. The featured youth artists for this year’s showcase include:
Lacy House – Red Shield Youth Center
Aariyah Graham – Red Shield Youth Center
Naephthalie Perocho - Lexington City Schools
J. Smith Young YMCA – ASDP, representing students from:
Charles England Elementary
Southwest Elementary
Davis Townsend Elementary
Pickett Elementary
Davidson Charter Academy
We are excited to be partnering with Davidson Local during their Justice & Journalism Community Conversations on the same evening. Refreshments will be provided by the Race Unification Committee of First Presbyterian Church Lexington, NC, other partners are the Black Butterfly Network - Lexington, and NAACP - Davidson County (Lexington, NC) Chapter.
The event is free to the public, and we welcome everyone to join us. It is our intent to seek and invite local artists and the community to come out and support our local youth artists, join the conversation with local journalists, and get involved in the discussion at our local Arts Theatre 202. Our vision is to continue growing and promoting local artists in our area.
