OGHS is competing in the PlayVS High School Eastern Conference Esports League this Fall
The Oak Grove High School Grizzly Esports Team will be competing in the Eastern Conference Play VS Esports League for the Fall 2022 Season. The OGHS Grizzly Esports Team has expanded its player base to include 13 players competing across four different video games during the regular season including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, Splatoon 3 and NBA 2K23. Players are divided by game into teams to compete with other high school in the Eastern Conference. The Grizzly Rocket League Team who calls itself NRGbutBetter consists of Noah Alcon, Vincent Bottjen, Daniel Jones and Braxdon Boyd. Team Spl@fest which competes in Splatoon 3 includes new players Savanah Cates, Claire Tippett, Madison Shoaf and Riley Vasquez. Next, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team is made up of the following new and returning players: Baker Leonard, Vincent Bottjen, Zach Bober and Luke Qualkenbush. Finally, they have two players competing in NBA 2K23 this season including Logan Green and Mitchell Harris. Players will compete at 4PM on Tuesday-Thursday each week until the end of the regular season on November 20th, 2022. Playoff and Championship Matches occur shortly after the regular season concludes from November 28th to December 12th. Oak Grove High School Esports Coach John Spillman said, “I am excited to be expanding the esports program at Oak Grove High School this Fall both by supporting new games and bringing in new players. Our program gives students a new opportunity to become an active part of the Oak Grove community and compete with schools all across the United States.”
