Davidson County Special Olympic reschedules Spring Games due to weather

Special Olympics Davidson County has rescheduled their Spring Games due to weather. The event is rescheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and the games will conclude at 1:00 p.m.

At the Spring Games, Special Olympics athletes from across the county will compete in various athletics events. This year the Spring Games are being held at Central Davidson High School located at 2747 NC-47 in Lexington.

The Special Olympic Spring Games is a winning combination of sports, sharing and caring offering year-round training and competition in over 15 different Olympic style sports.

Special Olympics contributes to each athlete's physical abilities while also providing psychological and social development. The competition is open to athletes eight years old and older.

Some of the Spring Game competitions include:

  • Softball Throw

  • 50 Meter Walk/Dash

  • 100 Meter Walk/Dash

  • Standing/Running Long Jump
