Alleged offender of internet crimes depicting children arrested in Thomasville
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has arrested Gary Thomas Wallace of 1030 Ball Park Rd, Thomasville, NC. He is charged with six (6) counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
This investigation originated in April 2024 from a cyber-tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The cyber-tip indicated that a user had uploaded numerous files depicting child sexual exploitation. Consequently, administrative subpoenas and a search warrant were issued to examine the contents of the account linked with these files. During the review of the search warrant results, additional illegal files depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) were uncovered.
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, members of the SBI's Computer Crimes Unit, working with partners from the Invictus Task Force and the NC Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, executed a search warrant at the residence of Gary Wallace in Thomasville, NC. As a result of the investigation, multiple items of evidence were seized, and Wallace was taken into custody. He is currently being held in the Davidson County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000. No further information is available as the investigation continues.
