Fatal collision on Gus Hill Road claims one life in Davidson County

A tragic accident occurred on Monday, March 3rd, at approximately 10:43 a.m., when the NC State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision on Gus Hill Road.

A Blue Ford Explorer traveling south on Gus Hill Road crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a UPS delivery truck, which was stopped in the northbound travel lane.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as 74-year-old Roy Clinton Brewer Jr. of Clemmons, tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The UPS truck driver was transported to Baptist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities closed the roadway in the area for approximately two hours while conducting their investigation. Officials have confirmed that no charges will be filed in connection with the incident.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time. The community mourns the loss of Brewer and extends thoughts to those affected by the crash.
