Dear Friends,
We've had a wonderful week, especially in the community.

North Carolina will provide the Christmas tree in the U.S. Capitol this holiday season. A 78-foot red spruce called “Ruby” will be harvested from Pisgah National Forest on Wednesday at 11 a.m. People can watch the tree cutting on the U.S. Capitol Facebook page.
A judge has ordered North Carolina to make it easier for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive care at home rather than in institutions. JC Taylor has been chosen by the local Veterans Council to be the grand marshal of the Davidson County Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11. It's something he is proud to be asked to do, not for himself, but for those who did not make it back home for the parades and celebrations of the U.S, victory over the Germans and Japanese.
This month, apprentices in the Davidson and Davie Apprenticeship Consortium program attend school one day a week at Davidson-Davie Community College and receive on-the-job training four days each week. We are excited to see what the Davidson-Davie STORM basketball team will bring this year! Thank you all for always represented Davidson County well over the years.
