LEXINGTON, NC – Lexington Police Officers responded to a shooting at a residence at 308 Tussey Street just before 2:30 am Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers discovered that 31-year-old Robert Grant, of Lexington, had been shot and killed inside the residence. A short time later officers learned that a second shooting victim, Britany Bethea, age 41, also of Lexington, had arrived by private vehicle at Lexington Medical Center. Bethea later died from injuries resulting from being shot.

Lexington Police Department detectives and crime scene investigators are conducting interviews and  processing evidence at the scenes. Early investigation indicates that there was a large party at the  residence, during which an altercation occurred, leading to the victims being shot.

This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no further information on potential suspects.

This incident is currently a very active and open investigation. Anyone that was at the party or otherwise with information about this shooting is encouraged to call the Lexington Police Department  at (336) 243-3302 or Lexington Area Crime Stoppers (336) 243-2400.
