Press Release: Task Force arrests suspect in Tussey Street Shooting
LEXINGTON, NC – Lexington Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshalls Carolinas Regional Task Force, arrested 37-year-old Darius Bethea on November 3, 2023, for the murder of Robert Grant. Grant's murder took place during a shooting that happened on September 16, 2023, on Tussey Street in Lexington.
Bethea was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Officers also arrested 20-year-old AAlysa Zo'Marya Hairston, who provided a room for Bethea. Hairston was charged with harboring a fugitive, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Background
On September 16, 2023, Lexington Police Officers responded to a shooting at a residence on Tussey Street just before 2:30 am. Upon arrival, officers discovered that 31-year-old Robert Grant of Lexington, had been shot and killed inside the home.
