Press Release: Thomasville City names interim superintendent
The Thomasville City Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Alisa R. McLean as the Interim Superintendent of Thomasville City Schools. Dr. McLean was approved at the January 16, 2024 Board of Education meeting and will take office effective Wednesday, January 17, 2024. She will serve as the district’s leader while the Board of Education searches for a permanent Superintendent.
Dr. Alisa McLean is a retired former Superintendent of the Granville County Schools with a career in public education that has spanned 30 years. Her rich experiences showcase her leadership at both district and state level educational agencies as well as her involvement in multiple organizations where her focus remains on improving outcomes for students, teachers and principals. She has earned several awards throughout her career in education. While she remains humbled by them all, her “continued focus is on helping to make schools and communities the best they can be for children,” says Dr. McLean.

McLean who will serve in Bulldog Nation for the next several months as we conduct our state-wide search for the next school superintendent here in Thomasville, North Carolina!"
