Faith and Fellowship: God Knows Our Name
We as believers try our very best to protect our name, there maybe times when we may struggle to remember someone’s name, But we can rest assured, In knowing God knows us by name, and he calls us by name..
Isaiah 49:1 teaches us “Before I was born the Lord called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name. What A precious gift in knowing that our Lord knows us by our name, not by a number and not by what other people may call us. What A Joy!
What A sweet fellowship to know that the shepherd loves us so much, Jesus said of a good shepherd,
The sheep hear his voice; and called his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out, then he told the disciples, “I am the good Shepherd, and I know my sheep, and am known of mine”. John 10:13
As believers whenever we feel afraid, we are comforted in knowing, God knows our name.As we read the word of God in Psalm 23, it brings us comfort in knowing the good Shepherd is always with us. Yes he knows our name, and we know and understand when someone knows and remember your name, it tells us that we are important to that person. In God’s big universe there are millions of people. And with all the people on the earth isn’t it a privilege in knowing that our God knows our name.
Jeremiah reminds us, that God knew us before we were born. “I knew you you before I formed you in your mother’s womb, before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nation. Jeremiah 1:5 God knows that we are unique, and that is why he can call us by name. And because he knows our name, He has called us by name to come into faith with him, knowing that Christ died for our sins. When we believe in Jesus, we are on our way to heaven.
Ecclesiastes 7:1 teaches us, “ A good name is better than fine perfume”. We can find Joy in knowing that our names are written on the palms of his hands, As believers we are a part of the Kingdom of God. We are given a new identity, a new name we are called the Children of God, no matter what our past may be,, no matter what mistakes we may have made in life. God knows our name, and he deserves our worship and he deserves our praise. Thank You God for knowing our name, Thank you God for your Love.
God knows the importance of a name, In biblical times names had great meaning. We can find throughout the word of God, where God changed the names of people. Abrams name was changed to Abraham, which means Father of many nations. And there are other name changes in the word of God. Did God change your name!
God knows your name, and your name is very important to him, God knows each of us by name. He walks and talks with us, and he tells us that we are his own. Yes that is sweet communion with God. Just like our earthly Father’s, sometimes God uses our name to get our attention.
As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember, God knows your name, no matter where you find yourself in life. God will always call you by your name.
May God so richly bless!!!
