Revive that Jacket Pride

Revive that Jacket Pride

LEXINGTON - Lexington Education Athletic Foundation, Inc. Booster Club invite all Lexington Senior High School Alumni to get your classmates together and let's get ready to connect!

On Saturday August 14, the Lexington Yellow Jackets Alumni Connection & Midnight Madness Football Scrimmage will be happening at Philpott Memorial Stadium at 26 Penry Street Lexington, NC!

Ronnie Beverly, Lexington Senior High School Athletic Director said he is excited about this event. He also said this will be a great chance for the community to come out and meet the Jackets, all the Fall sports teams will be introduced, there are also plans to introduce our new tailgating area for our upcoming football season, we will be collecting information to update our alumni data base, hall of fame applications will be available for future potential candidates, he said, the Club also will be soliciting for new Hall of Fame committee members, season passes will also be on sale, and we will give out Fall sports posters with the season schedules.

Beverly said, we are keeping with the theme “Midnight Madness” not that the team will be doing the 7 on 7 workouts at midnight, this was a thing schools in the past would do to kick off the traditional first day of official high school practice. Teams would debut their first official practice at midnight to get the kids excited about the August first official high school football practice day!

Franklin Dallas, President of the Lexington Education Athletic Foundation, Inc. Booster Club said this is a new project the club has been working on this summer to support school spirit and bring the Lexington Yellow Jackets community together to get ready for Back to School and hopefully an uninterrupted Fall season of sports. Dallas said, last year during the Covid-19 outbreak our Fall sports were unable to happen during the normal time of the season, so this year with vaccinations, and lifted regulations from the CDC, and our NC Department of Human and Health Services we can host Fall sports. Dallas also stated during the event we will be practicing social distancing, will have plenty of sanitizer stations available, we ask all attendees to be safe, come out and have a good time, with Alumni, family, and friends

This is going to be such a fun event and a time for our Lexington Yellow Jacket Nation to come out and see old friends, and new ones, said Tina Royal, Vice President of LEAF, Booster Club. We really want this to be a great way for Alumni to connect and for Alumni, friends, and neighbors to meet all our Fall sports athletes, and coaches. We are working hard to “Revive our Jacket Pride” and keep the Hive Alive, Royal said.

Royal said she hope Alumni come out this Saturday in huge numbers, the Booster Club invite folks, if you have a small business, sell crafts, food, baked goods, t-shirts, jewelry, candles, health care products, etc. We want to see you there!
