September 11th a day America will never forget
Take a moment to remember, reflect, honor and acknowledge all of those that gave their lives or service to protect and rebuild America.
It all began to happen on on September 11, 2001 at 8:14 a.m. EDT .
I can tell you exactly where I was on the morning of September 11, 2001. Ironically enough, I was sitting having coffee and planning a trip which included a flight to New York City for the following week with a very close friend. That same morning, I had just heard from my friend, Dale who only an hour before flew out of NYC, returning to North Carolina after enjoying a weekend in NYC. Dale actually captured some of the last images of the World Trade Centers that morning from the window of the plane that he flew in. That day was unlike any other day for myself and teaming others world wide.
The September 11th attacks, commonly known as 9/11, were four coordinated Islamist terrorist suicide attacks carried out by al-Qaeda against the United States.
On that morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners scheduled to travel from the East Coast to California. Coordinating attacks against several locations:
The upper floors of the north and south Towers of the World Trade Center
The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia
After learning about the other attacks, passengers on the fourth hijacked plane, Flight 93, fought back and the plane was crashed into an empty field in western Pennsylvania about 20 minutes by air from the target of the nation’s Capital Building in Washington, D.C.
