All three chambers in Davidson County along with the Small Business Center at DDCC hosted a celebration of local small businesses. Davidson-Davie Community College Small Business Center, North Davidson Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce and Thomasville Area Chamber of Commerce presented awards to small business and emerging entrepreneurs.
Brian Hamilton of the Brian Hamilton Foundation delivered the key note address. Hamilton, an entrepreneur and philanthropist has dedicated his career to helping launch and grow low-capital businesses and brings over two decades of experience in small business consulting, teaching, and entrepreneurship.
Hamilton began the address by noting the historic nature of the former furniture buildings surrounding the crowd at Bull City Ciderworks. He noted the success of Bull City as an example of how small business can arise even in a time of adversity.
