Subcontractors needed for Uptown project
In 2020, it was announced that the tallest building in Uptown Lexington was going to be demolished. The First National Bank (FNB) location (formerly the Lexington State Bank headquarters) on the corner of W. First Ave. and State St. is being replaced with a one-story building.
According to Cormac McDermott, vice president and construction manager for FNB, construction is slated to begin mid to late October. Due to the scope of the project, the company needs local subcontractors to assist with construction.
The types of subcontractors needed are:
Earthwork
Landscaping
Hardscaping
Site utilities
Concrete
Masonry
Steel
Rough carpentry
Millwork
Doors
Waterproofing
Roofing
Frames & hardware
Glazing
Drywall
Painting
Toilet accessories
Fire protection
HVAC
Plumbing
Electrical
As of now, no general contractor has been selected. After one is in place, the general contractor will decide about requirements and if there is a need for additional information. They would also be responsible for contacting subcontractors and vendors. In this capacity, FNB will serve in an advisory role.
It’s anticipated the project will take approximately seven months to complete. Interested parties can submit their information to the City of Lexington’s Office of Business and Community Development.
