Suspect dies after standoff with law enforcement

On Monday, June 17th, 2024 Davidson County Central Communications received a 911 call regarding an active domestic at 3583 Bethesda Rd, Lexington, NC, 27292.

The caller reported that shots were fired at this location. Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to this location to assist the victim and an officer involved shooting occurred.

After a prolonged standoff the suspect was later found deceased inside the residence.

As protocol in all officer involved shooting the Sheriff’s Office contacted the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, who responded to the scene to conduct an independent investigation of the incident.

At this time the names of the victims, suspect and all officers involved are being held pending further investigation.
