Davidson County has three representatives in the second round of the state playoffs. Two teams will be at home; the Thomasville Bulldogs and North Davidson Knights while the Ledford Panthers will be on the road.

The Bulldogs of Thomasville (8-2) are rolling. Having outscored their last two opponents by a score of 104-6, they look to do the same this week as they battle the Sauras of South Stokes (6-4). Slowing down the run will be key this Friday for South Stokes. Thomasville definitely comes in the favorite. This matchup will be at 7:30p.m. at Cushwa Stadium.

North Davidson (7-3) dominated West Henderson last week in round one. The Falcons had no answer for the Knights balanced offense as North exploded for 59 points. Hickory Red Tornados (7-4) look to pump the brakes on the Knights this week and take some of the chink out of their armor. The Red Tornados need to win the time of possession battle and keep North’s offense off the field if they want to come away with the upset. Game time is 7:30p.m. at Palmer Field.

Arguably, the Ledford Panthers (8-3) have the toughest matchup for a county team as they travel to Dudley (10-1) also the Panthers. Dudley seems to have hit their stride having won their last eight games. In this eight game stretch, Dudley has outscored their opponents by an unbelievable margin; 475-15. Ledford will have to be able to shut down Dudley’s duel threat quarterback if they hope to have a chance at winning. Game time is 7:30p.m. at JA Tarpley Stadium.
