The Office of the Governor grants awards each year to individuals or groups in North Carolina to recognize exemplary service. All North Carolinians, including state employees, are eligible for the award.
Thomasville Mayor, Raleigh York, Jr. recently recognized 12 citizens who received the prestigious Old North State Award. This award was presented by the Governor to recognize “dedication and service beyond expectation and excellence to the Great State of North Carolina.”
Nominations could only be made for individuals who had 20 or more years of service in the State of North Carolina. “Working together, we can make North Carolina the place of unlimited opportunity – a place where anyone who studies hard, works hard and lives a life with high values can fulfill and even exceed their potential.”
