Bridge Replacement Coming to Davidson County Road for Several Months

THOMASVILLE – Starting next week, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will narrow lanes on a Davidson County road for several months for a bridge replacement.

On July 26, crews will begin to replace the bridge on Smith Drive near Westwood Avenue with a culvert. Work is expected to be complete by May 31, 2022.

The road will remain open during the construction and traffic will follow an onsite detour.

Motorists should remain alert for crews and construction equipment, observe signage and drive cautiously through the area.
