Thomasville fire department has busy Christmas Eve

The Thomasville fire department dealt with two separate fires on Christmas Eve, according to reports, but fortunately no one was injured in either case.

Just before 5:30 a.m. Dec. 24, Thomasville and High Point fire fighters were called to a fire involving a number of structures on Griclar Street, but it was categorized as an outdoor or wood fire.

Later that same afternoon, Thomasville and Fair Grove firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the breakdown lane of I-85 North near exit 103. Firefighters remind drivers to move over when passing stopped emergency and maintenance vehicles on the highway.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
