Thomasville man charged with animal cruelty

Thomasville man charged with animal cruelty

On December 5th 2023, Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office began an animal cruelty investigation on Lacy Helper Rd, in the Thomasville area. During the course of the investigation, several reports were made to the Davidson Sheriff’s Office, requesting a welfare check on some hound dogs at a residence.

Upon arrival, Deputies found several hound dog mix in thin body conditions and one 4-year-old hound mix with an injury to his front leg. It was discovered that this dog had been suffering from an injury for almost two weeks with no medical treatment. The dog was picked up by Deputies and transported to the Davidson County Animal Shelter, where it has been determined that the dog will have to have his leg amputated due to the severity of the injury and infection due to the lack of medical treatment.

On December 7, 2023, Deputies arrested Walter Dylan Estep with one Felony count of Animal Cruelty. There are other possible charges pending, but at this time the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information about these dogs, to please contact Deputy C. Soles at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division at 336-242-2105.
