Thomasville minors arrested, charged with assault and robbery

On Thursday, December 26, 2024, at approximately 2:27 p.m., officers responded to a robbery report in the 200 block of W. Main Street. A juvenile victim told police that he had been assaulted and robbed of his iPhone and watch. The victim was transported to Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

Through their investigation, Thomasville detectives identified and located the two suspects in the 700 block of Railroad Street. The juveniles, aged 14 and 15, were taken into custody without incident. Both have been charged with common law robbery, assault, and injury to personal property.

These two juveniles have previously been charged in connection with a felony breaking and entering and other larcenies. Thomasville detectives contacted the North Carolina Division of Juvenile Services and Delinquency Prevention, requesting a secure custody order, as the suspects are currently on probation. Upon review, the Division recommended the juveniles be released into the custody of their parents.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
