Thomasville Tourism is proud to announce the winners of the summer window decorating contest. There were many businesses that participated and the top three were selected. The big winner was the Antique Emporium; 2nd place was Logan and Cidney Watts at 11 Salem Street, and 3rd place was Abby’s This & That store. The HiToms added to the winning prizes by donating a jersey and two season tickets to each winner. Tourism has hosted a Christmas Window Decorating for the past two years and they were very successful. “We love our small businesses and supporting local. So when Greg from the HiToms approached us about doing a window decorating contest for the summer the Tourism Commission jumped at the idea. Our windows are so vibrant and full of life, and we are so grateful to all of the participants. We encourage everyone to come visit Thomasville and see what’s new!” The winning window was actually three windows at the Antique Emporium. They pulled out some of the antique mechanical wood figures and got them working to symbolize important figures in American history. They decorated two other windows with some items from various vendors that sell in the Emporium. Megan Fields accepted on behalf of the Emporium noting the American/patriotic theme they had in all their windows. Tourism is grateful to the Beautification Committee for their support of the contest and all they do to keep our town looking its best!
Thomasville is excited to be decorated for our upcoming Memorial Day Parade. The Parade is May 30th at 9:00 am downtown, and ends at Cushwa Stadium with a ceremony and paratroops descending in the stadium. This is one of the largest Memorial Day Parades in the South East.
