True freedom is found in God alone

True freedom is found in God alone

Independence Day is celebrated on the 4th of July. This day is not just a day of celebration of political freedom, but the 4th of July is a day to reflect on spiritual freedom.

As believers, we should understand that true freedom is rooted in our faith. In the word of God,

freedom includes spiritual freedom from sin, our true freedom is found through the sacrifice of Christ. Psalm 33:12 states,” Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”

God is a sovereign ruler, Jesus came to set us free.

Free from sin and free from a long list of laws and regulations, contrary to what people in the world may believe. True freedom is not doing whatever you want to do, we have the ability through the help of the Holy Spirit to lead us to all truths. As believers, the Holy Spirit is a part of God guiding us. Others should always see us shining with true freedom within us, that can only be found in God alone.

The word of God teaches us in Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm and do not let yourself be burden.”

We are to have spiritual freedom in Christ and we are to encourage one another. Independence Day encompasses the dual themes of freedom and responsibility. It is a celebration of a nation, national independence and liberty, but for believers it is a reminder of spiritual freedom granted by Jesus and the responsibility to live according to his teachings.

We should always remember when we are guided by scripture, we can serve our God by serving our country well as the children of God.

Remember as the fireworks are going off in celebration of our Independence Day, let them always remind you to be grateful to God for the freedom and opportunity we have in our country.

May we always be grateful to our men and women of our armed services who serve this country tirelessly to protect our freedom.

Remembering always, true freedom is found in God alone.

As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember that freedom on this earth is indeed precious to us, but nothing is compared to the freedom that we will have with Jesus Christ forever. May the work in our hearts bring true freedom to humanity.

May God So Richly Bless!
