Two charged with common law robbery in Thomasvile
On July 7, 2024, at 12:56 a.m., police responded to a report of a common law robbery at Thomasville Inn. The victim informed officers that while visiting with a friend, he was accosted by two individuals in his room. A bald Hispanic male, accompanied by a black male, forcibly took the victim's cell phone.
Responding officers quickly located and detained the Hispanic male suspect in another room on the property. They subsequently identified a room where the black male suspect was believed to be staying. A search warrant was obtained and executed.
During the search, officers recovered the stolen cell phone, as well as a firearm, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. The black male suspect, identified as Quintin Kersey, 37, of 407 National Highway, was arrested and charged with common law robbery, felony possession of Schedule I substances, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver Schedule I substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jose Perez-Magdaleno, 38, also of 407 National Highway, was charged solely with common law robbery.
Both suspects were assigned a $15,000 secured bond and were remanded to the Davidson County Jail. Their court dates have been scheduled for August 28, 2024, in Lexington.
