Local men charged with death by distribution
On June 2024, Patrol Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence where an individual was located deceased. The circumstances surrounding the death led deputies to believe it was related to a narcotic overdose. Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the death.
Over the next few months, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, along with the Vice/Narcotics Unit were able to identify Marcus Parker and Cory Bailor as individuals who distributed fentanyl to the victim just before their death. Furthermore, both were identified as continuing to distribute narcotics within Davidson County, NC. In July 2024, Marcus Parker and Cory Bailor were arrested for numerous drug charges.
In September 2024, Detectives received the autopsy results and toxicology reports from the deceased victim in June. Those reports showed the victim died as a result of fentanyl toxicity.
On September 30, 2024, a grand jury indicted Marcus Parker and Cory Bailor for the charge of Death by Distribution. Both, Marcus Parker and Cory Bailor were served with this indictment and were ordered to the custody of the Davidson County Detention Center pending their court date.
