39-year-old man killed in collision on Highway 85

A 39-year old man was killed on Tuesday on Interstate 85 southbound after being struck by an 18-wheeler, according to the Lexington Police Department.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., officials responded to I-85 at Exit 91, which is the N.C. Highway 8/Cotton Grove exit, after a semi truck struck a pedestrian.

Representatives from the City of Lexington said the victim, identified as Andrew Wynn, was on the overpass on Cotton Grove Road prior to the collision with the truck on the highway. Law enforcement believe it was an “intentional act” on part of the victim and the driver of the vehicle was charged with any violations

The Lexington Police Department is still investigating the incident.
