UPDATE: Lexington Police Investigate Shooting
LEXINGTON, NC – Earlier today, January 25, 2023, Shantae Mccauley, one of the shooting victims from the incident on January 22, died as a result of his injuries. Lexington Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting on January 22. There are no additional updates to report.

Lexington Police Investigate Shooting
LEXINGTON, NC – On January 22, 2023, at 12:52 p.m., Lexington Police received a call of a shooting in the area of Winston Road at US 29-70. Police arrived on the scene and located evidence that a shooting had occurred in the roadway. While investigating the shooting location, Lexington Medical Center called to report that two victims arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police identified the two male gunshot victims as 25-year-old Shantae Mccauley and 34-year-old Dustin Archie.
Mccauley was transferred to Atrium Health Wake Forrest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and is in critical condition. Archie is being treated at Lexington Medical Center and is in serious condition.
