Press Release: Sheriff's office and task force make arrest in sexual exploitation case

On Monday, November 13, 2023, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division / Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested and charged Robert Joseph Gallazzi, of Lexington, North Carolina, with ten counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation.

An investigation was initiated on October 28, 2023, after the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received information on an unrelated investigation. During that investigation Gallazzi was found to be in the possession of child sexual abuse material and was formally charged on November 13, 2023, with the above charges. Gallazzi was arrested and taken before a Davidson County Magistrate where he was charged with ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. As a result, Gollazzi was confined to the Davidson County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Lexington Court on November 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. and is being held under a $350,000.00 secured bond.
