"I am inspired to cook by love, I love the way that delicious food that I cook makes everyone feel," Hargrave says. "Moreover, I love the way that cooking good food and serving it to my family and friends makes me feel.”

Current advancement in the Favorite Chef competition is solely based on voting at http://favchef.com/2024/clarence-hargrave.

The Top 20 Round began on May 20th and the entire competition ends with the announcement of the overall winner, which votes will solely determine until July 25th.

On August 2nd, the competitor receiving the overall top votes will be awarded the 2024 People's Choice Grand Prize Winner. The People's Choice Award includes an array of prizes, including cash, an exclusive photoshoot, and a feature in Taste of Home magazine. There is also an additional award, Carla's Pick, which is chosen exclusively by Carla Hall.

Public voting advances the competitors from round to round until the competitor receiving the most overall votes is named the People's Choice Award winner of Favorite Chef.

To vote for Hargrave and  to help him continuously advance in the competition throughout the summer, supporters may vote daily at http://favchef.com/2024/clarence-hargrave

"I consider food to be art because it is a work created out of inspiration, be it haute cuisine or the simplest morsel," Hargrave said. "While perishable, it is still remembered, and like art, food can be used to convey an array of emotions and thoughts."

Supporters may repeatedly vote, but you can only vote once in 24 hours. Other voting options include voting through contributions to the James Beard Foundation, which is listed on the voting website.

Hargrave currently resides in Lexington and is working on his first cookbook.
