"Get Ready to Rumble" to help vets!
On Saturday, October 2, local charity BigBikes4Vets, Inc. assisted by the Rockingham Company will host “Rumble at the Depot,” a charity motorcycle and car show. The event is scheduled to take place at Bull City Ciderworks, 559 South Railroad St. in Lexington. Gates open at 1 p.m., live music kicks off at 2 p.m. and the festival will rumble throughout the evening until 10 p.m.
Executive director of BigBikes4Vets, Inc., Jack Walters, details the event, “This is an all-day festival that highlights the entertainment district in the Depot, which is basically the area around, and between, the Amphitheater, Bull City Ciderworks and Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse. It is set to appeal to music lovers, car and motorcycle enthusiasts, food lovers and those who love to check out vendors, along with craft beers and ciders. There is a car show, motorcycle show, food trucks and three bands, headliner Wristband, Chuck Mountain and opener Seth Williams and Brad Cardille. The music is a blend of rock, bluegrass and country to appeal to everyone.”
All proceeds for Rumble at the Depot event go to BigBikes4Vets, Inc. This charity helps support area veterans with day-to-day needs, education as well as recognition. To find out more about the organization, visit www.bigbikes4vets.com.
When discussing the charity and inspiration for this event, Walters explained, “The reason is threefold. One, to introduce folks to our great city, especially the growing entertainment available in Lexington. Two, to create another great event providing music, food, ciders, beers, expanding exciting things to do in Lexington. Three, the net funds raised will benefit BigBike4Vets, Inc. and the money raised will help to recognize and help local NC Veterans with everyday needs.”
To register for the car or motorcycle show, the fee is $15. Due to great support from event sponsors, general admission is free. More information can be found at rumbleatthedepot.com or see Rumble at the Depot on Facebook.
