Within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC, the Uwharrie area is home to some of North Carolinas most scenic and challenging gravel routes. The Assault on Uwharrie Gravel ride will highlight 3 of those routes on May 22nd.

Options include 28-mile, 35-mile, and 50-mile routes. Full SAG support and rest stop on all routes. These routes are big on gravel. Some of it fast. Some of it gnarly. A lot of it uphill. You'll experience "The Wall" not once but twice on all three routes. What's "The Wall"? Trust us, you'll know it when you see it. All three routes start and finish at the Denton Farm Park, home of Tour de Kale and the two longer routes feature the Low Water Bridge crossing. And in keeping with tradition, there's an ice-cold Coke for you at the end. Registration is online ONLY so get it done today! Ride Fee is $8. Registration closes at noon on Friday the 21st.

Proceeds will go to Hilda Nelson's family to cover her final costs and if there is anything left over it will be donated as well. This ride is to help raise awareness of elderly abuse and neglect. While our loved ones are in facilities and we aren't allowed in, there is no telling what is happening to them. This ride is to raise the awareness that there is always a possibility your loved ones aren't being cared for properly and to help us see and understand the signs before it is too late.

Line dancing lessons every Thursday evening at the Arcadia Community Center. . 

Cost is $7 total (cash or venmo). Covers you for the entire night of classes! 

- 5:30 Fundamentals of Dance (basic beginners to learn steps).

- 6:00 Beginner dances

- 7:00ish Improver/Intermediate dance
