Lexington Fire Department responds to residential fire, none harmed

Press Release - City of Lexington Fire Department Responds to Single-Family Residential Structure Fire.

LEXINGTON, NC – On March 27, at approximately 1:53 a.m. Lexington Fire Department responded to a single-family residential structure fire located at 611 E. 1st Street Extension.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the basement door. They quickly gained access and deployed an attack line to extinguish the fire. Fire crews performed a search of the structure. All the occupants were accounted for and made it out of the home. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

The structure sustained fire damage to the floor structure and smoke damage throughout the home. The utilities were secured, and two occupants were displaced.

There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the City of Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office.
