Thomasville Christmas Parade promises to be the biggest and best one yet

This year’s Thomasville Christmas Parade promises to be the biggest and best one yet! Saturday December 10 th at 11:00AM you will find the streets of this Historic Downtown full of Christmas Cheer!

There are 120 festive entries including 4 local bands and 5 dance groups. In addition, Winston Salem State University has entered their 125-person band, and NASCAR Driver Timmy Hill will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal. There will be more professional floats, balloons arching over Main Street, a stilt walker for photo ops, and even free face painting and balloon animals in the Depot.

“The Parade Committee and the entrants have been working hard to make this a magical day for everyone. We are so grateful to The Beautification Committee and the City as they have done a fantastic job getting our Historic Downtown decorated for the season, providing a festive backdrop for the Christmas Parade.

Tourism is proud to have hosted the window decorating contest, and we are so impressed with all of the businesses ornately decorated windows – they are a must- see!” ~Cameron Marsden, Director of Thomasville Tourism.

After the parade visitors are encouraged to stay in Thomasville, shop the plethora of local retailers, eat at the local restaurants the stay for the “Star of Bethlehem” event at Memorial United Methodist Church. “The whole Town pulls out all the stops for the Christmas season. Everyone participates and contributes. Even the big chair has a Santa hat on! Our local retailers work hard to make sure their shelves are stocked with their incredible products. There are antique shops, designer boutiques, a candy store, unique sneaker shops, 2nd -hand options, and more– there is truly something for everyone in Thomasville. Plan to come spend this

At 5:30 PM the free live, drive-thru reenactment of the nativity story, “Star of Bethlehem” begins. It will include live animals such as camels and donkeys across the 25 various live sets. This runs from 5:30 – 8:30 both Saturday and Sunday.
