On Monday, under clear blue skies, hundreds of people took part in the Thomasville Memorial Day parade ceremonies and paid their respects to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The Thomasville parade is said to be one of the largest across the state.

Thomasville Memorial Day Parade was led by Vietnam Combat US Air Force Veteran Curtis Connor and Parade Chairman Thomasville City Councilman Hunter Thrift. The event was part of a weekend-long celebration that included antique cars, military equipment, state and local dignitaries. Eleven Gold Star families were also honored in Thomasville.

The remembrance event ended with a paratrooper ceremony in the sky.
