Family Services of Davidson County celebrating 25 years of service in 2022
Lexington, NC – Family Services of Davidson County (FSDC) is celebrating 25 years of service to our community this year with a full slate of activities and the unveiling of a new logo.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity this year to remember and reflect on the first 25 years of FSDC’s presence in the lives of Davidson County citizens,” said Tim Tilley, Executive Director for the agency. “Knowing that we can have an immediate, positive impact on families and young people, especially during difficult times in their lives, is what motivates our staff and our board members each and every day.”
In 1997, for the first time ever, families in Davidson County gained access to crisis and counseling services at one location. The merger between Davidson County Domestic Violence and Youth and Family Counseling Services to create FSDC opened opportunities for client centered, trauma-informed care in our community in ways that had never been attempted.
Over the last 25 years, FSDC’s mission has been to develop services to support those impacted by violence and mental health disorders. The agency has developed programming built on trust, best practices, and safety, which has promoted healing and recovery in our community.
Today, through advocacy, counseling, safe shelter, and support services, FSDC is able to offer more than twelve unique community-based programs and services.
FSDC is planning many events throughout the year for the community to join them in celebrating their 25th Anniversary. This summer, FSDC will invite clients and community members to attend free movie nights at the agency’s office on Greensboro Street Extension. The annual Davidson Doozie 5k & 10k will take place on September 10th, registration is now open on our website. On October 22nd, a gala event at Colonial Country Club will celebrate past and future.
