Brookdale Lexington Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s Dementia Care recently had the distinct honor of celebrating a remarkable milestone—the 100th birthday of resident Mary Everhart. To commemorate this special occasion, the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce presented Mary with a Centenarian plaque on February 21st, recognizing her incredible journey and contributions to the community.
Mary Everhart was born on February 22, 1925, to Rosa and Brady Everhart. Her life has been filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories. One of the most extraordinary aspects of Mary’s story is her marriage to Rex Everhart. After knowing each other for just one week, Mary and Rex tied the knot, beginning a lifelong partnership that lasted an incredible 72 years. The couple moved to Brookdale Lexington in 2016, where they shared precious moments together until Rex’s passing six months later. Mary has continued to be a beloved resident of Brookdale Lexington for the past nine years.
Throughout her life, Mary worked in retail sales while also devoting herself to raising their three children—two daughters and a son. Her family has since grown to include five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and even one great-great-grandchild. Her love and devotion to family have been an inspiration to those around her.
Beyond her professional and family life, Mary has been a dedicated member of Bethesda Church, where she passionately taught the four-year-old Sunday school class for more than 30 years. Her love for crafts and creativity is evident in the many quilts she made, along with her beautiful cross-stitch and crochet work.
Mary is known for her humility, kindness, and the positive impact she has had on those around her. As a treasured member of the Brookdale Lexington community, she continues to be a source of warmth and joy to residents and staff alike.
Please join us in wishing Mary Everhart a very happy 100th birthday! Her life is a testament to love, faith, and dedication, and we are honored to celebrate this extraordinary milestone with her.
