Closed since March 2020, Davidson Water is welcoming its customers with a newly renovated office and the experience that comes with it. In this renovation: a new drive-thru, renovated lobby, an improved parking lot, and enlarged storm drainage were added.

Led by the Northern Davidson chamber, Davidson Water held their office renovation ribbon cutting, along with the Lexington and Thomasville chamber. There, Lee Comer, President of Davidson Water Incorporated, says “...our mission statement is we’re determined to provide plenty of abundant clean water to our members at the best price we can offer but we also want to be an asset to the community…”

"To better serve our customers we added a second drive-thru to more quickly process payments and agreements and a comfortable lobby area for our customers and employees,” said Ron Sink. After being at its current location in Welcome for about 24 years, the lobby was too small. After knocking down some walls, the lobby is much more spacious and ready to serve its customers.

Below ground, what the public does not see, was inadequate storm drainage, now extended and enhanced. Sink says, “this is big work that you don’t see, it’s hidden. It’s kinda like our work, all our water lines, there's a lot going on underground, it's hidden, it's not sexy like roads and bridges and airports, but it's much-needed infrastructure; necessary for public health and economic development.”

In the front office, the pavement was deteriorating badly. After the renovation, there is a new parking lot with repaved curbs and gutters.

Davidson Water is now improved and ready to serve its customers while continuing landscaping throughout the summer
