YMCA on Wheels rolls out arts and reading programs

YMCA on Wheels rolls out arts and reading programs

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. CORETTA SCOTT KING

At the Y, our community is stronger when community partners work together. This week the Lexington Police Department, Dcpl Bookmobile and Arts Academy at Grace hit the road with us. The Y on Wheels bus stops at a few neighborhoods that are not in walking distance of the Y so that all children get a summer camp experience. Thanks to the Dcpl Bookmobile, kiddos got to check out books without having to go to the library. Each child received an art bag full of supplies courtesy of Arts Academy at Grace. The kids liked playing, drawing and throwing footballs with the Lexington Police Department. We are so grateful for all the organizations that help us encourage and mentor the youngest members in our community. You are helping making a difference!

We are so thankful to Mountcastle Insurance and other private donors who make this possible!
