A Photo Gallery: Peaceful Protests in Raleigh for Charles McNeair

Nearly 30 supporters traveled from Lexington to the state capital on Saturday, March 25 to raise awareness about the incarceration of Charles McNeair. Their peaceful protests occurred in downtown Raleigh across from the Governor’s Mansion and near the Legislative Building.

In 1980, McNeair was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of second degree rape and felony breaking and entering. A petition for clemency was sent to Governor Roy Cooper in September 2022.
