Before the season began, Lexington Senior High School Men's Basketball Coach Adrian Lee said, "This team is looking to contend for the Central Carolina Conference title and make a state playoff run.” At that time, those were compelling words for this Lexington Senior High School team.

Fast forward to today, near the end of the season. How does Coach Lee view the outlook now? “Our team goal remains the same, to compete at the highest level in and outside of the classroom with a laser focus on a conference title and a state playoff tournament. The standard is set and the end all goal is to win the day!”

At the time of this writing, the team is 7-1 in conference play and 11-8 overall. It appears they are well on their way to accomplishing their goals. They are a well balanced team with  four sophomores, six juniors, and two seniors. Both of the seniors have been accepted into college to further their education.

Leading the team scoring is Jaylen Henderson with fourteen points per game and 3.5 steals per game. Rahzel Ewart is having a good season with ten points per game and six rebounds per game. Valliance Luketa follows with eight points per game and seven assists. Andre Gybaah has eight points per game, and eight rebounds per game. Aaron Holmes has 7.3 points per game and five assists. These team stats display what a well balanced team they are.

Earlier in the season, Coach Lee complimented his athletes by saying, “Our basketball team is made up of student athletes who work very hard in and outside the classroom. They strive to be the best versions of themselves everyday.

These student athletes appear to have the skills and determination to accomplish their goals. Professional NBA star Stephen Curry said, “Success is not an accident, success is actually a choice.” This team has made success its choice, and will soon see the fruits of their labors.
