Adopt a rubber duck for the Annual Davidson Duck Derby
The Annual Davidson Duck Derby to support programs benefiting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will be held at Thomasville Aquatic Center on 10 Stadium Dr. in Thomasville on June 1st at 10 a.m.
Rubber ducks that have been “adopted” will race to the finish line. The first place finisher will win $500, second place is an Igloo cooler and pool goodies valued at $250 and third place is a $100 in Amazon gift cards.
“We invite the public to join in the fun,” said Executive Director Teresa McKeon. “The first 50 kids will receive a pool voucher and the first 25 through the gate will receive a duck keychain. Attendees can enjoy chicken biscuits as the ducks float to victory,” added McKeon. “This unique event provides family fun while raising funds that will support direct services including our inclusive summer camp.”
Ducks are “adopted” by donors, 1 duck for $10 and 3 ducks for $25. At 10am, rubber ducks will be dropped into the pool and the race will be on. Those interested in adopting a duck may go to https://duckderby2024.square.site/.
“Without the support of our Presenting Sponsor Novant Health and our other sponsors, this event would not be possible.” said McKeon.
