Local Residents Honored by The Arc of Davidson County
The Arc of Davidson County recently recognized individuals making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The following awards were given at the May Annual Meeting:
Courtney Burche - Food Lion Employer of the Year recognizes employers having exceptional records of providing inclusive competitive employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities
Jennifer Michael - Davidson County Schools Teacher of the Year Award for demonstrating excellence in teaching students with developmental disabilities
Julie Evans, The Arc of North Carolina - Professional of the Year Award for demonstrating sensitivity and outstanding support for people with developmental disabilities
Linda McKay - Volunteer of the Year Award for giving generously of time and talents to accomplish the mission of The Arc
The Salvation Army of Davidson County- Inclusive Community Award for building connections within the entire community to support and serve people with and without disabilities in an inclusive setting
Michele Payne - Direct Support Professional of the Year Award for extraordinary commitment to providing direct support for people with developmental disabilities
Teresa Miller - Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership in self-advocacy
Patrick Trull- Spotlight Award given to an employee for exceeding expectations and expecting the same of people supported.
